Revamil Balm is a mild honey-based ointment developed for treating superficial cuts, scrapes, and first-degree burns. It is also very effective for other forms of skin damage in children and adults. The special honey in Revamil Balm has a high enzyme content, giving it a strong antibacterial effect and promoting wound healing. Revamil Balm is free from harmful substances and does not cause allergic reactions. Revamil Balm can also be used in combination with Aldanex, in which case the Revamil should be applied under the Aldanex Skin Protectant.

Pure and effective
The honey in Revamil comes from bees kept under strictly controlled conditions, using a process developed at Wageningen University. This ensures the honey is pure and has a consistently high enzyme content. When it comes into contact with wound fluid, the enzyme glucose oxidase releases small amounts of hydrogen peroxide over a prolonged period, which has a disinfecting effect. Revamil Balm also forms a protective layer on the wound, providing long-term protection.
The (healing) power of honey
It's been known for centuries that honey helps wounds heal. But how this works has only become clearer in recent years. For example, a researcher at the AMC discovered that, besides the enzyme glucose oxidase, another substance in honey has antibacterial properties: Bee defensin-1, a protein naturally occurring in the immune system of bees. It's no coincidence that a recent official guideline recommends treating infected wounds with honey as an alternative to iodine.
